The analysis of the needs and condition of prosthetic limbs in the world and in Ukraine. The main reason (87%) lower limb amputations are the patency of arteries. The emergence of new patients with critical limb ischemia in the year up to 1000 per 1 million population. Registered prosthetic Ukrainian enterprises is more than 700 thousand patients, noted active development in the world of research and production of automated artificial limbs. The need for automated prosthetic limbs in Ukraine amounts to tens of thousands a year, and requires the creation of laboratories for their development, research and production. Are general approaches automation solution prostheses.Describes the technical realization of artificial limbs. Considering the complexity of the problem shows promising the creation of joint scientific and technological laboratories, integrating the capabilities of prosthetic centers and departments of the electric and automation of technical universities. The authors consider it expedient to establish such a laboratory in Zaporozhye.
