AUTOMATED INFORMATION SYSTEM “SCIENTIFIC RATING”
Abstract:
Ukrainian scientific centres and educational institutions are actively integrating into the global community. Government agencies are monitoring this process at various levels. For this purpose, a variety of approaches. One of them - is the construction of scientific ratings to rank the organizations. But in order, to get the effect, it's necessary to eliminate a few of existing drawbacks. First, it’s manual data manipulation and, second, work in emergency mode (created report only by request). The paper proposes a solution to these issues in the form of an Automated Information System "Scientific Rating". The main tasks of this system are the support of the department's scientific indicators base and to build various rating reports. Automation of some works is performed: data input (algorithms of document recognition); creation whatever rating reports (use a template mechanism); export reports to documents of various formats. Thanks to the implementation of automatic file processing, data entry is performed much faster. The Software Package is component-based and using MVC pattern. The main developments instruments are PHP and JScript languages. Software solutions applied in development: library PdfParser for recognizing pdf documents, library TCPDF for export reports to pdf files, library PhpWord for building a doc file. Using the "Scientific Rating" System ensures integrity, correctness and completeness of the data on which the scientific reports are created. A Web-oriented architecture provides round-the-clock access to a personal data of scientific indicators for all organization employees. This System can be used both for building departmental reports and for motivating employees.
