Possibilities and fields of electric drive using in equipment for mechanized arc welding with a consumable electrode. It is shown that modern condition of arc welding technology can be greatly enhanced with the use of impulse algorithms of electrode wire movement system. Using of high dynamic stepper and switched reluctance electric drives as a moving mechanism electric drive. Switched reluctance electric drive structure was chose as the most effective for welding automatic and half-automatic welding devices.
