COMPETENCE AS A WAY OF IMPLEMENTING FUNCTIONAL ROLES IN THE PROJECT TEAM
Abstract:

Currently, one of the important research tasks is to build up the model of the group development to the team level on the basis of compliance of differentiation of functional roles with the team members’ competence level. The maximum role load in the project team is the maximum implementation of functional roles of project team members, which depends on the amount of knowledge generated by the very role.

On the basis of team members’ tasks generated by their functional roles the compliance of participants’ competencies with each intended task is determined. With the ratio of general knowledge of the team members and their use the reserve of team development is determined, that affects the effectiveness of the task, which is directly proportional to the volume of unused knowledge. Based on the Verhulst and Pearl’s model the effectiveness of project tasks is determined, which influences directly the project effectiveness taking into account the environment of resistance factors, causing changes in the number of competencies to perform a certain functional role.
