BLDC ELECTRIC-DRIVE IN THE MECHANISM OF PULSE FEED OF ELECTRODE WIRE
Abstract:

There is a sufficiently wide variety of drives realizing the pulse wire feed. Most of them have a number of drawbacks, mainly connected with difficulties in setting-up the required pulse shape, frequency and pitch of electrode wire feed. In this paper, the basic requirements to this kind of drive are extended and formulated, the advantages of using special Brushless Direct Current  electric drive as a drive for a pulse wire feed are described. The special Brushless Direct Current  electric drive designed for pulse feed mechanism has high dynamic characteristics which allow generating the maximum force of inertia which is a key parameter of the process with a pulse electrode wire feed. In addition, for commutation of phases of Brushless Direct Current  electric drive, the specially designed, half-bridge circuit is used which allows regulating current strength of the stator phase windings. This wiring allows not only achieving a significant increase in the rate of deceleration, but also reducing the power consumption on average by 30% and a surface temperature of Brushless Direct Current electric drive on average by 20 % , as compared to other available variants providing deceleration.
